Our approach to legal information

Honest about
what Lex
is and is not

We believe that being clear about what LexSpeakAI™ provides — and what it does not — is the foundation of everything. Trust is built on honesty, not marketing language.

01

Who we are

LexTalkAI Intelligence Ltd is a technology company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17024893). We trade as LexSpeakAI™. We are not a law firm and we are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

We build voice-first AI tools that make legal knowledge accessible to everyone — regardless of income, language, or background. That is our purpose. Everything we build serves that purpose.

The distinction that matters: LexSpeakAI™ is a technology service provider. Lex provides legal information and administrative support — not regulated legal advice, and not reserved legal activities as defined by the Legal Services Act 2007.

02

Who we serve

Most legal tools are built for lawyers. LexSpeakAI™ is built for everyone else.

For the employee who just received a redundancy letter and does not know if it is legal. For the tenant who received an eviction notice and does not know their rights. For the freelancer whose client will not pay. For the person going to tribunal alone because they cannot afford a solicitor. For the small business owner chasing invoices. For anyone who has ever felt that the law was written for other people.

We are also building partnerships with law firms, advice organisations, housing associations, trade unions, and other organisations that want to extend their reach and serve more people more efficiently.

03

What we provide

LexSpeakAI™ provides legal information, document preparation, evidence organisation, and structured case assessments. We do not provide legal advice, conduct reserved legal activities, or create a solicitor-client relationship.

The distinction matters. Legal advice is a professional service that carries professional liability and requires SRA regulation. Legal information is what a knowledgeable friend gives you — clear, accurate, grounded in the law, and genuinely helpful.

Think of Lex as having access to a highly knowledgeable friend who understands UK law, explains it plainly, and helps you prepare — without charging solicitor rates. That is a genuinely valuable thing to have. It is just different from professional legal advice.

When you genuinely need a solicitor — for complex, contested, or high-stakes matters — LexSpeakAI™ Bridge™ helps you find the right one and arrive prepared. The referral is always free to you.

04

LexSpeak Counsel™ — specifically

LexSpeak Counsel™ gives you Lex's full merit audit of your legal position. It tells you what the law says, what your rights appear to be based on the facts you have shared, what options are available, and what the process involves — and delivers a Legal Clarity Rating so you know exactly where you stand.

It is Lex's informed view — not a solicitor's professional opinion. That distinction is important and we are always clear about it.

Why Counsel™ exists: 76% of employment tribunal claimants represent themselves. Most of them arrive without knowing the law, without knowing the procedure, and without knowing how to present their argument. Counsel™ changes that. It gives the self-represented litigant the knowledge and confidence to stand in that room and argue their case effectively.

That is legal empowerment — not legal advice. And it is aligned with the direction of UK government policy on access to justice, including the Legal Services Board's access to justice agenda and the Civil Justice Council's guidance on technology for litigants in person.

Every Counsel™ output carries a clear notice: This is Lex's assessment based on the information you provided and our legal knowledge base. It is not a solicitor's opinion or professional legal advice. For complex, contested, or high-stakes matters, a qualified solicitor should review this assessment before you act on it.

05

How we ensure accuracy

Lex's responses are grounded in verified UK legal knowledge sources — legislation, ACAS guidance, tribunal procedure, and statutory regulations — updated regularly. We do not rely on general AI training data alone for legal information.

Despite this, AI systems can make errors. We take this seriously. Every output Lex produces carries a clear notice to review carefully before acting. If you believe anything Lex has told you is incorrect, contact us at support@lexspeakai.com with your Case ID — we will review and correct it within one working day.

We maintain an accuracy register of all reported issues and use every report to improve our knowledge base. Your feedback makes Lex better for everyone.

For high-stakes matters — anything involving a court, tribunal, or formal legal proceeding — we always recommend having Lex's outputs reviewed by a qualified solicitor before acting on them.

06

Bridge™ and solicitor relationships

When your matter requires a qualified solicitor, LexSpeakAI™ Bridge™ facilitates the introduction — completely free to you. The law firm pays our introduction fee. We disclose this arrangement fully in every referral communication, before any introduction is made.

Once a solicitor is instructed, they are professionally responsible for your legal matter. LexSpeakAI™ remains available to help you understand the process, explain terminology in plain English, and assist with document preparation alongside your solicitor's work. We do not advise on your solicitor's legal strategy or interfere with the solicitor-client relationship.

"Your solicitor handles the case. Lex handles the preparation."

07

Our commercial model

LexSpeakAI™ charges for document preparation, evidence organisation, case assessments, and ongoing voice access. Our prices are a fraction of professional legal fees — deliberately. We exist to make legal help affordable and accessible, not to maximise revenue at the expense of the people we serve.

Our Bridge™ referral service generates income from law firm introduction fees, not from users. All referral arrangements are fully disclosed.

All products and services are non-refundable once delivered. If your document contains a material error, we will remake it at no charge. Full terms apply.

LexSpeakAI™ products are entirely free of advertising. We do not accept advertising revenue. We do not allow third parties to pay to have their services promoted to our users. Our only commercial relationships are with our users and our Bridge™ solicitor partners — both fully disclosed.

08

For organisations

LexSpeakAI™ is built for deployment by law firms, advice organisations, housing associations, trade unions, local authorities, and other organisations as a client-facing or member-facing tool.

Grey-label deployments carry the LexSpeakAI™ brand alongside your own. White-label deployments are fully branded to your organisation. Both come with LexSpeak Intelligence™ — a real-time analytics dashboard showing demand patterns, category trends, and user insights that help you allocate resource and demonstrate impact to funders.

We are aligned with the Legal Services Board's access to justice agenda, the Ministry of Justice's digital transformation programme, and the Civil Justice Council's guidance on technology for litigants in person. The mission

Justice shouldn't
be a luxury

That is not just our tagline. It is why we exist.

We are building the infrastructure for a future where your rights do not depend on how much you can pay to understand them. Where a frightened tenant at 2am gets the same quality of legal information as a well-resourced employer. Where a self-represented litigant walks into a tribunal knowing exactly what they are arguing and why.

We are a small company at the beginning of that mission. We are building carefully, honestly, and with the long term in mind. Every product we launch, every partnership we form, and every user we serve is a step toward a legal system that works for everyone — not just those who can afford it.
